- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
- Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord.
Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord. - Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually! - Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established. - Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways! - The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands. - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain. - Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up your hand;
forget not the afflicted. - Let us test and examine our ways,
and return to the Lord! - For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek me and live.”
- The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. - The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom,
and humility comes before honor. - Seek the Lord and his strength;
seek his presence continually! - The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
when he delights in his way. - Return, faithless Israel,
declares the Lord.
I will not look on you in anger,
for I am merciful,
declares the Lord;
I will not be angry forever. - Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near. - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue. - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name! - The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
he brings low and he exalts. - And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day.
- For it is you who light my lamp;
the Lord my God lightens my darkness.
