- But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who are abusive to you.
- Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?
- Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.
- As iron sharpens iron,
So one person sharpens another. - It goes well for a person who is gracious and lends;
He will maintain his cause in judgment. - Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.
- A joyful heart is good medicine,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones. - Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. - Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
- And He was saying, “That which comes out of the person, that is what defiles the person. For from within, out of the hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery, deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile the person.”
- Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
- Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and a good reputation
In the sight of God and man. - Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought for a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
- For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God.
- Words from the mouth of a wise person are gracious, while the lips of a fool consume him.
- But Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.”
- For You bless the righteous person, Lord,
You surround him with favor as with a shield. - So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone.
- Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap.
- Now if your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
- Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day.
- House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the Lord. - Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- Like a city that is broken into and without walls
So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit. - Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you,
And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
How blessed are all those who long for Him.
