- You know what I long for, Lord;
you hear my every sigh. - You have tested us, O God;
you have purified us like silver. - But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
- I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.” - You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you! - And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
- Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.
- Do what is good and run from evil
so that you may live!
Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper,
just as you have claimed. - The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.
- Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you.
- I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
- But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave.
- Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
- I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
- O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water. - Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
- For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. - This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.
- Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
- Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
- Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. - Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
- Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
- I will teach you wisdom’s ways
and lead you in straight paths.
