- Ponder the path of your feet;
then all your ways will be sure. - And rend your hearts and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
and he relents over disaster. - Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths. - Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you. - For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds. - My son, keep your father's commandment,
and forsake not your mother's teaching. - For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. - Honor the Lord with your wealth
and with the firstfruits of all your produce. - But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones. - Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
- Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.” - Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
- For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.
- Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
- The sum of your word is truth,
and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. - But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground! - Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
- But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.
- Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend,
and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is near
than a brother who is far away.
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good?Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last. Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.Next verse!With image
