Bible Verses about 'Abide'

  • But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
  • When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
  • So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father.
  • And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
  • And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
  • Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
  • Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
  • We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
  • If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
  • Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
    He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
  • All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.
  • But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
  • Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.
  • And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
  • Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

  • You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
  • And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.
  • For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
  • Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
  • One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples began breaking off heads of grain to eat. But the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Look, why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?” Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He went into the house of God (during the days when Abiathar was high priest) and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat. He also gave some to his companions.” Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”
