- You are my hiding place and my shield;

Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! - Gracious words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
- I, I am he who comforts you;
who are you that you are afraid of man who dies,
of the son of man who is made like grass. - Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - What is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him? - For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
- The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
they go down into the inner parts of the body. - Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. - Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
