- The face of the Lord is against evildoers,
to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
- Yours, O Lord, are the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is yours; yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.
- Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their cry. - The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous run into it and are safe. - The Lord loves those who hate evil;

to live in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord,
and to inquire in his temple. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord rescues them from them all. - The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. - Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”
- To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
- Learn to do good;
seek justice,
rescue the oppressed,
defend the orphan,
plead for the widow. - How happy is the one whom God reproves;
therefore do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. - He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. - This Jesus is
‘the stone that was rejected by you, the builders;
it has become the cornerstone.’ - The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God.”
- All deeds are right in the sight of the doer,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and prosper for us the work of our hands—
O prosper the work of our hands! - The spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me;
he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed,
to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to the prisoners. - Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.
- You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”
