- It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
- And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. - And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
- This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

- Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom. - All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
- We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
- Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. - The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge. - The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
- Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
- Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
- These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
- The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - We love because He first loved us.
- And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
- Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
- My son, keep your father’s command
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
