- I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.” - Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning,
for I am trusting you.
Show me where to walk,
for I give myself to you. - But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me,
and through each night I sing his songs,
praying to God who gives me life. - But the Lord watches over those who fear him,
those who rely on his unfailing love. - For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With his love, he will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. - And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law.
- Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
- Those who love your instructions have great peace
and do not stumble. - There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
- In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
- So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
- Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
- Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. - And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.
- So the Lord must wait for you to come to him
so he can show you his love and compassion.
For the Lord is a faithful God.
Blessed are those who wait for his help. - And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand. - Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
- Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
- And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. - If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
- Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
but to your name goes all the glory
for your unfailing love and faithfulness. - But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
- Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
My future is in your hands.
Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly.
