- Mark out a straight path for your feet;
stay on the safe path. - Show me the right path, O Lord;
point out the road for me to follow. - The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.
He rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. - For I know that as you pray for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me, this will lead to my deliverance.
- But he knows where I am going.
And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.
For I have stayed on God’s paths;
I have followed his ways and not turned aside. - The righteous person faces many troubles,
but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. - Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
- I cried out, “I am slipping!”
but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. - Until at last the Spirit is poured out
on us from heaven.
Then the wilderness will become a fertile field,
and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops. - I have been the Lord your God
ever since I brought you out of Egypt.
You must acknowledge no God but me,
for there is no other savior. - Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.
- And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.
- And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.
- I have swept away your sins like a cloud.
I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist.
Oh, return to me,
for I have paid the price to set you free. - And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”
- The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever. - Oh, what joy for those
whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight! - Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward.
- All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
- The Lord’s home reaches up to the heavens,
while its foundation is on the earth.
He draws up water from the oceans
and pours it down as rain on the land.
The Lord is his name! - Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
- You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger. - Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life. - For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
- If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.
