- And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
- Grant thee according to thine own heart,
and fulfil all thy counsel. - And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
- Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts,
cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. - Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. - I made haste, and delayed not
to keep thy commandments. - See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
- Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.
- Ponder the path of thy feet,
and let all thy ways be established. - For thou wilt light my candle:
the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. - I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
- But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.
- Only by pride cometh contention:
but with the well advised is wisdom. - Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
- For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
- Teach me thy way, O Lord;
I will walk in thy truth:
unite my heart to fear thy name. - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
- See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
- Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
- And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;
yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. - Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
- Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
- Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
- A man's heart deviseth his way:
but the Lord directeth his steps.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
