- A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs with discretion. - One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
- The rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and as an high wall in his own conceit. - The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious;

- Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
- Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:
fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. - He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the Lord require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy God? - A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - A man's gift maketh room for him,
and bringeth him before great men. - Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- Who will render to every man according to his deeds.
- And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
- It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy,
and after vows to make enquiry. - Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy:
for thou renderest to every man
according to his work. - For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
- And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
