- This is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their cry. - I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to render an account for every careless word they utter.
- For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
- I lifted up my voice in prayer to him;
his praise was on my tongue. - I myself did not know him,
but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest
is the one who is to baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ - Jesus said to him, “Go on your way! Your faith has made you well.” Immediately, he received his sight and followed him along the road.
- Although the mountains may be shaken
and the hills may totter,
my steadfast love will not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace will never be shaken,
says the Lord who has compassion on you. - Trust wholeheartedly in the Lord
rather than relying on your own intelligence.
In everything you do, acknowledge him,
and he will see that your paths are straight. - The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace.
- He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;
whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God rests upon him. - Moses remained with the Lord for forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments, on the tablets.
- Place your hope in the Lord:
be strong and courageous in your heart,
and place your hope in the Lord. - The Lord God is my strength;
he makes my feet as swift as those of a deer
and enables me to tread on the heights. - The Lord said to Moses, “Climb up to me on the mountain and remain there. I will give you stone tablets with the laws and commandments that I have written for their instruction.”
- And I say to you: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.
- As much as possible, and to the extent of your ability, live in peace with everyone.
- Riches will be of no avail on the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both.
- Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
- For our eyes are fixed not on what is seen but rather on that which cannot be seen. What is visible is transitory; what is invisible is eternal.
- But Jesus has now received a ministry that is far superior, for he is the mediator of a far better covenant that has been established on better promises.
- For it has been granted you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him.
- God blessed the seventh day and he consecrated it, for on it he rested from all the work he had done when he created all things.
