- Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men! - Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain. - I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
- A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous. - Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
- Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come— that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.
- Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
- For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
- And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
- In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.
- In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!” - But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
- In all labor there is profit,
But idle chatter leads only to poverty. - And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.
- Surely the Lord God does nothing,
Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. - How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house.
- But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine.
- Treasures of wickedness profit nothing,
But righteousness delivers from death. - Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
But righteousness delivers from death. - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
- God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But the rebellious dwell in a dry land. - He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
