- In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. - Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him. - Fearing people is a dangerous trap,
but trusting the Lord means safety. - The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense;
they imagine it to be a high wall of safety. - But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble? - People with integrity walk safely,
but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed. - God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble. - For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. - The Lord is good,
a strong refuge when trouble comes.
He is close to those who trust in him. - Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. - He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection. - A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. - But as for me, I will sing about your power.
Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love.
For you have been my refuge,
a place of safety when I am in distress. - You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you! - I love you, Lord;
you are my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;
my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
He is my shield, the power that saves me,
and my place of safety. - I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one.
- The Lord will work out his plans for my life—
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
Don’t abandon me, for you made me. - So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.
- It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in people. - For I have given rest to the weary and joy to the sorrowing.
- The name of the Lord is a strong fortress;
the godly run to him and are safe. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will never be shaken. - Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. - God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.Next verse!With image
