- But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
- But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
- But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
- But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
- A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself;
but the simple pass on, and are punished. - But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
- While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- Blessed are the pure in heart:
for they shall see God. - There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death. - Seek the Lord, and his strength:
seek his face evermore. - He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. - What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
- Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
- Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
- But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
- Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his face continually. - O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him. - Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
- Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
- If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
- Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
- Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
- I had fainted, unless I had believed
to see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. - And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
- Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
