- In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.”
- What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.”
- Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.”
- A friend loves at all times,
and kinsfolk are born to share adversity. - To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord.
- Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
- You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
- For whatever is born of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world, our faith.
- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
- Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”
- Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, and when they were over, he was famished.
- The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God.”
- Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.
- For a child has been born for us,
a son given to us;
authority rests upon his shoulders;
and he is named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me.”
- When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved.”
- When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
- When I fed them, they were satisfied;
they were satisfied, and their heart was proud;
therefore they forgot me. - So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
- Who, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
as something to be exploited,
but emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
And being found in human form,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to the point of death—
even death on a cross. - Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.
- When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man.The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors; may he not leave us or abandon us. Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.Next verse!With image
