- Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me. - My son, keep your father’s command
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. - Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
- All your words are true;
all your righteous laws are eternal. - Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops. - Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness. - For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches to the skies. - Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.
- Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me. - Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways. - Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones. - Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
- Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
- Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
- This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.’ - But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
- Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans. - And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
- Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.
- Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,
we wait for you;
your name and renown
are the desire of our hearts. - Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
lead me on level ground. - Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.
- But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.
