Sin (2/6)

Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.”
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away.
“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing. When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin.
Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you!
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.
Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.
We have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.
If a person sins, and commits any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and shall bear his iniquity.Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.
