Trust (2/3)

How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.O how abundant is your goodness that you have laid up for those who fear you, and accomplished for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of everyone!
I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I am not afraid; what can flesh do to me?
Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals.
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace— in peace because they trust in you.
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God; and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.
But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge.Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.But I trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, yet I will be confident.
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Our steps are made firm by the Lord, when he delights in our way.
It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. It does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
“For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he is revealed we may have confidence and not be put to shame before him at his coming.
Don’t envy violent people or copy their ways. Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord, but he offers his friendship to the godly.Do not envy the violent and do not choose any of their ways; for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord, but the upright are in his confidence.
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.
