That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. | Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. |
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. | And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. |

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. | My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. |
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. | He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. |
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. | Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. |
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. | Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. |
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. | Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. |
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. | I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. | Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. |
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. | For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. |
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. | For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. |
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. | A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. |
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. | Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die. |
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. | Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. |
Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. | Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. |
