Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating. | A fool’s lips come into strife, and his mouth invites beatings. |
The father of godly children has cause for joy. What a pleasure to have children who are wise. | The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him. |
Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. | Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you. |
A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted. | A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent. |
