Chinese (traditional)“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name! But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. It is honorable for a man to stop striving,
Since any fool can start a quarrel. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. When pride comes, then comes shame;
But with the humble is wisdom. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. A fool’s lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows. A man’s gift makes room for him,
And brings him before great men. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling. And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’ Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. By pride comes nothing but strife,
But with the well-advised is wisdom. Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.Next verse!With image
