Chinese (traditional)“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them. Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. The lips of fools bring them strife,
and their mouths invite a beating. A gift opens the way
and ushers the giver into the presence of the great. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called. I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’ Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice. Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.Next verse!With image
