So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. In that day you will say:
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.” If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance. Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin condemns any people. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity! Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Pride brings a person low,
but the lowly in spirit gain honor. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds;
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.
