Chinese (traditional)You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.” I give you a new commandment:
love one another.
Just as I have loved you,
so you should also love one another. For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, and those of the Spirit are opposed to the flesh. They are in conflict with one another, so that you cannot do what you want. The one who pays heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name. Put on the armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the deceit of the devil. Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he protects the souls of his faithful ones
and rescues them from the hand of the wicked. This is
‘the stone rejected by you, the builders,
that has become the cornerstone.’ For everyone born of God
conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
is our faith. For we are God’s coworkers; you are God’s field, God’s building. For much wisdom can result in much sorrow,
and those who increase their knowledge also increase their grief. For God would not be so unjust as to ignore your work and the love that you have shown for his name by the services you have rendered to the saints and still continue to render. It is better to spend one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in God’s house
than dwell inside the tents of the wicked. God blessed the seventh day and he consecrated it, for on it he rested from all the work he had done when he created all things. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many. Diligent labor always yields profit,
but idle conversation only leads to poverty. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. A word is not even on my tongue
and you, O Lord, are completely aware of it. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him. If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. He gives strength to the weary
and new vigor to those who are powerless. For from the beginning
you have heard the message
that we should love one another. However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die. The heavens were made by the word of the Lord,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. For ‘In him we live and move and have our being.’ As even your own poets have said, ‘We are all his offspring.’ Those who live according to the flesh can never be pleasing to God. But I know that my Redeemer lives,
and that at the end he will stand upon the dust. Who indeed conquers the world
except the one who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God? And the Word became flesh
and dwelt among us.
And we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth. At dawn let me experience your kindness,
for in you I place my trust.
Show me the path I must walk,
for to you I lift up my soul. To him all the Prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.
