Bible Verses about the Body

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am wonderfully made; awesome are your works, as I know very well.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.Even should my heart and my flesh fail, God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever.
So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.Banish grief from your heart and ignore the sufferings of your body, for youth and the prime of life are fleeting.
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.A cheerful heart is excellent medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. And let the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it was for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.Do not pride yourself on your own wisdom; fear the Lord and turn your back on evil. This will provide healing for your flesh and restore strength to your body.
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.Pleasing words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and affording health to the body.
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. While physical training has some value, the benefits of godliness are unlimited, since it holds out promise not only for this life but also for the life to come.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. Therefore, we do not lose heart. Even though our outer self is continuing to decay, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called. There is one body and one Spirit, as well as one hope to which you have been called by your vocation.
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.Have no fear of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.O God, you are my God, for whom I have been searching earnestly. My soul yearns for you and my body thirsts for you, like the earth when it is parched, arid and without water.
Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat, or about your body and what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Now we know that if the earthly tent in which we live is destroyed, we have a dwelling prepared for us by God, a dwelling in the heavens, not made with human hands, that will be eternal.
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. The Lord God then formed a woman out of the rib that he had taken from the man. He brought her before the man. The man said, “This one is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken from man.” This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and joins with a wife, and the two become one flesh.
If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna.
The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife.A husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise a wife should fulfill her conjugal obligations to her husband. For a wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as free men, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. If I give away everything to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but do not have love, I achieve nothing.
