- Jesus then said to her,
“I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me,
even though he dies, will live,
and everyone who lives
and believes in me
will never die.
Do you believe this?” - I have told you this
so that in me you may be in peace.
In the world
you will endure suffering.
But take courage!
I have overcome the world. - No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends. - Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives
do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled;
be not afraid. - You did not choose me.
Rather, I chose you.
And I appointed you
to go out and bear fruit,
fruit that will remain,
so that the Father may give you
whatever you ask him in my name. - Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”
- Jesus answered him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him
and make our abode with him.” - This is my commandment:
love one another
as I have loved you. - God is Spirit,
and those who worship him
must worship in Spirit and truth. - For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life.
