Joy (2/2)

  • But godliness with contentment is great gain.
  • In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him.
  • I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.
  • In the way of your testimonies I delight
    as much as in all riches.
  • As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
  • As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.
  • The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
    he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.
  • Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
  • Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.
  • Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
  • And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
  • The precepts of the Lord are right,
    rejoicing the heart;
    the commandment of the Lord is pure,
    enlightening the eyes.
  • He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
  • My son, if your heart is wise,
    my heart too will be glad.
  • Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
  • But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
  • Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
    but those who plan peace have joy.
  • Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”.
  • Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
  • The hope of the righteous brings joy,
    but the expectation of the wicked will perish.
  • Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
  • Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.
  • The vine dries up;
    the fig tree languishes.
    Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
    all the trees of the field are dried up,
    and gladness dries up
    from the children of man.
  • A wise son makes a glad father,
    but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.

A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.Next verse!With image
