Life (4/6)

  • Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
  • Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
  • Listen, my son, accept what I say,
    and the years of your life will be many.
  • For this is what the high and exalted One says—
    he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
    “I live in a high and holy place,
    but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
    to revive the spirit of the lowly
    and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
  • Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.
  • When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
  • This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.”
  • The Lord will rescue his servants;
    no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
  • The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.
  • You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.
  • Teach me your way, Lord,
    that I may rely on your faithfulness;
    give me an undivided heart,
    that I may fear your name.
  • You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
  • Now all has been heard;
    here is the conclusion of the matter:
    Fear God and keep his commandments,
    for this is the duty of all mankind.
  • Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
  • I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
  • He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
  • Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
    who walk according to the law of the Lord.
  • Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
  • For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
  • His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
  • For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.
  • We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.
  • The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.
  • Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
  • For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.
