- If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
- No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
- I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!” - Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.
- The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
- Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
- John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
- The rich can pay a ransom for their lives,
but the poor won’t even get threatened. - But when you had eaten and were satisfied,
you became proud and forgot me. - You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.Next verse!With image
