- When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
- But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
- And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
- With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful;
with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. - But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
- But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion,
and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.Next verse!With image
