To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. | To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice. |
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” | But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.” |
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. | Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up. |
Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. | See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all. |

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. | Commit your way to Yahweh. It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows. | It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows. |
I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. | With my whole heart I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments. |
