- “No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all. - Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
- Open your mouth, judge righteously,
And plead the cause of the poor and needy. - Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
- But let justice run down like water,
And righteousness like a mighty stream. - Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. - Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow. - For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
- Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path. - Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
- Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting. - Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Righteousness exalts a nation,
But sin is a reproach to any people. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? - Better is a little with righteousness,
Than vast revenues without justice. - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
- Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
- Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
- The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. - For the Lord is our Judge,
The Lord is our Lawgiver,
The Lord is our King;
He will save us. - He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference.
- A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous.
