- Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield. - “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
- The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power;
in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. - You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
- Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
- He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
- The wicked borrow and do not repay,
but the righteous give generously. - There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
- The Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous. - Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil. - Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon. - Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.
- When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment.
- Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you will be sheltered
on the day of the Lord’s anger. - Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous,
no one who does what is right and never sins.
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.Next verse!With image
