- Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline. - This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”
- But Jesus told them, “I will be with you only a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me.”
- And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
- That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.

the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
may he equip you with all you need
for doing his will.
May he produce in you,
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to him.
All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. - But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
- For you are my hiding place;
you protect me from trouble.
You surround me with songs of victory. - I hear the tumult of the raging seas
as your waves and surging tides sweep over me. - Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?
- Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
- Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made.
- Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
- So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
- Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
- He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
- This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
- Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
- So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
