Am (4/4)

In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.
Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
“All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?
When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.
“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword.
For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.
Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.“Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.
I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.Yes, I am confirming my covenant with you. Never again will floodwaters kill all living creatures; never again will a flood destroy the earth.
