- Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
- Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. - Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident. - Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
- For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.
- One who turns away his ear from hearing the law,
Even his prayer is an abomination. - Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.
- Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
But those who deal truthfully are His delight. - But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
- Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the Lord. - A fool’s wrath is known at once,
But a prudent man covers shame. - Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
- Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
- Do not envy the oppressor,
And choose none of his ways;
For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
But His secret counsel is with the upright. - But let justice run down like water,
And righteousness like a mighty stream. - For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
- A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
- He who covers a transgression seeks love,
But he who repeats a matter separates friends. - And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
- And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
- I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.
A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah
