Bible Verses about 'An'
- Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.
- When your eyes light upon it, it is gone;
for suddenly it takes wings to itself,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - Fools show their anger at once,
but the prudent ignore an insult. - Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war rise up against me,
yet I will be confident. - When one will not listen to the law,
even one's prayers are an abomination. - But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
- For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
- Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
but those who act faithfully are his delight. - Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
- To make an apt answer is a joy to anyone,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one.
- And whoever does not provide for relatives, and especially for family members, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure.
- Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the human heart is fully set to do evil.
- One who forgives an affront fosters friendship,
but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend. - Adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
- I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous ordinances. - For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.
- I tell you, on the day of judgment you will have to give an account for every careless word you utter.
- Do not envy the violent
and do not choose any of their ways;
for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord,
but the upright are in his confidence. - Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you.
- House and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord. - Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart to revere your name. - But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
- It is honorable to refrain from strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.
- But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.

- The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. - And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

an alien, like all my forebears. - The wealth of the rich is their strong city;
in their imagination it is like a high wall. - No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.

a tree from the forest is cut down,
and worked with an ax by the hands of an artisan;
people deck it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so that it cannot move.
Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
and they cannot speak;
they have to be carried,
for they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of them,
for they cannot do evil,
nor is it in them to do good. - Let us therefore no longer pass judgment on one another, but resolve instead never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of another.
- And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
