Chinese (traditional)- Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all. - For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the Lord. - The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
- Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
- Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
- Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always. - Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
- But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”
- Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
- This is what the Lord says to Israel: “Seek me and live.”
- Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
- He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord. - The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners. - Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord. - He builds his lofty palace in the heavens
and sets its foundation on the earth;
he calls for the waters of the sea
and pours them out over the face of the land—
the Lord is his name. - And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
- Do not envy the violent
or choose any of their ways.
For the Lord detests the perverse
but takes the upright into his confidence. - Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.
- Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
who walk in obedience to him. - Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord.
- The Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous. - For who is God besides the Lord?
And who is the Rock except our God? - Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.
