- Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- What are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them? - But you, O Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid.
- You are altogether beautiful, my love;
there is no flaw in you. - Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
- What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
- Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
- Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
- For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - Happy are those who keep his decrees,
who seek him with their whole heart. - But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
- It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
- Where can I go from your spirit?
Or where can I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there. - Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.
- By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
- Come now, let us argue it out,
says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is clear,
enlightening the eyes. - The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels;
they go down into the inner parts of the body. - Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
- You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
for your name's sake lead me and guide me.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.Next verse!With image
