Do not assert that the past was better than the present, for such a statement is not a sign of wisdom.Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.

You can eat any water creature that has fins and scales; those you can eat. Whatever does not have fins or scales, you are not to eat. It is unclean for you.Of all that are in the waters you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.
