- But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.

- God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
- My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
- That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
- Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.

- No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
- But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.
- For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
- For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
- For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
- The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.
- For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
- Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?
- This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
- Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

- But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
- God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him. - And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
- Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love,
which you have shown from long ages past.
Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.
Remember me in the light of your unfailing love,
for you are merciful, O Lord. - And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.
- So, what about eating meat that has been offered to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God.
- As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”
- So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father.
- For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.
- Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”
