Chinese (traditional)- Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
- Can a man walk on hot coals
without his feet being scorched? - “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
- The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. - My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God? - A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies. - Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom. - If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
- Great peace have those who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble. - How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word. - In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
- Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
- Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
- So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?” - Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. - No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
- If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up. - Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.
- And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
- I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
- Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
- What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
- If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Next verse!With image
