- But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, as he promised he would be. Come and see the place where he lay.”
- Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. - Arise and shine forth, for your light has come
and the glory of the Lord has dawned upon you. - My soul thirsts for God, the living God.
When shall I come to behold the face of God? - When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you.
- Remember your Creator in the days of your youth
before the bad times come
and the years draw near when you will say,
“I take no pleasure in them”. - We also know
that the Son of God has come
and given us understanding
so that we can know the one who is true.
And we are in the one who is true,
since we are in his Son Jesus Christ.
He is the true God and eternal life. - Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God.
- Examine me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and understand my thoughts.
See if I follow an evil way,
and guide me on the way to eternity. - For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” - Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest.
- Can someone hide in a secret place
so that I cannot see him?
Do I not fill heaven and earth? - But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it with patience.
- Cure the sick who are there, and say, ‘The kingdom of God has come unto you.’
- Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you have faith you will see the glory of God?”
- Seek peace with everyone, as well as the holiness without which no one will ever see the Lord.
- Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill them.
- I will not leave you orphans;
I will come to you. - In that way, I can come to you in joy, if God so wills, and be refreshed together with you.
- Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace but a sword.
- Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can see the kingdom of God
without being born from above.” - Jesus answered him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him
and make our abode with him.” - What then if you were to behold the Son of Man
ascend to where he was before? - Come forth! Let us bow down to worship him;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. - I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”I am the good shepherd.
The good shepherd
lays down his life for the sheep. In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.Next verse!With image
