- My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord.
Apart from you I have no good thing.” - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
- For in much wisdom is much grief; and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
- It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends.
He will maintain his cause in judgment. - But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own.
- Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but Yahweh delivers him out of them all. - By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.
- Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.
- For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man.
- The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hope of the wicked will perish. - For of him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.
- Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him.
Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. - Yahweh will be King over all the earth. In that day Yahweh will be one, and his name one.
- Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
- Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
- May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and into the perseverance of Christ.
- And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.
- Having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.
- You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.
- Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
- He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.
- If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.
- Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
- When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
