Bible Verses about 'Dead'

  • In the same way, faith by itself is dead if it does not have works.
  • And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and the scrolls were opened. Then another scroll was opened, the book of life, and the dead were judged according to their deeds, as were recorded in the scrolls. The sea gave up all the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them. The dead were judged according to their deeds.
  • If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwells in you.
  • For since death came into the world through a man, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a man.
  • If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
  • Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. You received without payment; give in the same way.
  • He is the head of the body,
    that is, the Church.
    He is the beginning,
    the firstborn from the dead,
    so that in every way
    he should be supreme.
  • But God is rich in his mercy, and because he had such great love for us, he brought us to life with Christ when we were already dead through sin—it is by grace that you have been saved.
  • Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside, and he saw and believed. They still did not understand the Scripture indicating that he must rise from the dead.
  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In his great mercy he has given us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance toward maturity. We must not be forever laying the foundation: repentance for actions that lead to death, faith in God, instruction about baptisms and the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
  • But I have had help from God to this very day, and I stand here and testify to both the lowly and the great. I assert nothing more than what the Prophets and Moses said would occur: that the Christ must suffer, and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light to the people and to the Gentiles.
  • May the God of peace—who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant— make you perfect in every respect so that you may do his will. And may he enable us to achieve what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from acts that lead to death so that we may worship the living God.
  • When the command is given, at the sound of the archangel’s voice and the call of God’s trumpet, the Lord himself will descend from heaven, and those who have died in Christ will be the first to rise. Then those of us who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them on clouds in the air to meet the Lord. And so, we will be with the Lord forever.
  • Nor should you present any part of your body as an instrument for wickedness leading to sin. Rather, present yourselves to God as having been raised from death to life and the parts of your body to God as instruments for righteousness.
  • He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live in righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
  • This saying can be trusted:
If we have died with him,
we shall also live with him.
  • I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.
  • All I want is to come to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share in his sufferings by becoming conformed to his death.
  • What then shall we say? Should we persist in sin in order that grace may abound? Of course not! We have died to sin. How can we live in it any longer?
  • He said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He is not here. See the place where they laid him.”
  • Jesus then said to her,
“I am the resurrection and the life.
    Whoever believes in me,
even though he dies, will live,
    and everyone who lives
    and believes in me
    will never die.
    Do you believe this?”
  • However, the gift is not like the transgression. For if the transgression of one man led to the death of the many, how much greater was the overflowing effect of the grace of God and the gift of the one man Jesus Christ that has abounded for the many.
  • He is not here. He has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee: that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified and rise again on the third day.

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has been raised, as he promised he would be. Come and see the place where he lay.”

Bible verse of the day

It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city.
