- Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life. - My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you. - Behold, God is my helper;
The Lord is with those who uphold my life. - For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart. - Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God. - Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.”’
- Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me. - You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
- So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. - Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression,
But a good word makes it glad. - Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart. - What is desired in a man is kindness,
And a poor man is better than a liar. - And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.
- As in water face reflects face,
So a man’s heart reveals the man. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me. - I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments. - So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom. - For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
- I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little. - Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord. - Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord! - A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones. - Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty,
And before honor is humility.
