Father’s (2/4)

  • And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
  • A wise child makes a glad father,
but a foolish child is a mother's grief.
  • Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”
  • But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
  • I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
  • And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever.
  • For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.
  • But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
  • And every tongue should confess
    that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
  • As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.
  • The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will be glad in him.
  • Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  • Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not what I want, but what you want.
  • Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
  • Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
  • Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.
  • For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
  • Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing.
  • Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Having said this, he breathed his last.
  • And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
  • Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
  • Pray then in this way:
    Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name.
    Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
  • For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, “Abba! Father!”
  • Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”

Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
