Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? | “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?” |
See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. | Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. |
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. | That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. |
Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord—with the first of them and with the last—I am he. | Who has performed and done it, Calling the generations from the beginning? ‘I, the Lord, am the first; And with the last I am He.’ |
Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) | Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. |
Till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. | Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest. |
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? | Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? |
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. | But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. |
The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen. | And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen! |
Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. | Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. |
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. | Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. |
Everyone comes naked from their mother’s womb, and as everyone comes, so they depart. They take nothing from their toil that they can carry in their hands. | As he came from his mother’s womb, naked shall he return, To go as he came; And he shall take nothing from his labor Which he may carry away in his hand. |
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. | This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. |
For no word from God will ever fail. | For with God nothing will be impossible. |
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. | But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. |
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. | So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. |
Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. | You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. |
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. | Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. |
And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. | And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. |
But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. | But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. |
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. | But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. |
For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. | For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. |
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. | But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You. |
When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened. | Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. |
And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. | And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. |
